Mark R. James has extensive real estate and corporate law experience, having completed hundreds of merger, acquisition, divestiture, going private, financing, and related transactions. For over twenty-five years, he has represented clients of all sizes in corporate, business law, and real estate matters.
Additionally, Mark advises clients in the areas of strategic business planning, entity selection and formation, contract drafting and negotiation, and structuring, negotiating, drafting and completing purchase, sale, finance, and restructuring transactions.
Mark was previously an attorney with Birmingham, Michigan law firm Williams, Williams, Rattner & Plunkett, P.C., where he was a member of the firm’s Business and Commercial, Bankruptcy and Insolvency, and Real Estate practice groups.
Mark counsels and represents public and private companies, entrepreneurs, boards of directors and business owners on matters related to corporate and real estate law, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, private placements, private equity, lender- and borrower-side commercial and private lending in senior, mezzanine and subordinated credit facilities, corporate governance and related business law matters.
Mark lives in Bloomfield Township with his wife and three children. He is active with the Bloomfield Band and Orchestra Boosters, where he serves as Vice-President of the Executive Board. Mark is an avid golf and guitar player.
